During the November 2025 government shutdown, many local families of children with special needs experienced unexpected financial strain, including temporary loss of SNAP benefits during the holiday season. In response, the Giving Jar Initiative was launched as an emergency community effort to provide immediate support.
Through small donations from our community, the initiative helped five local families, providing $200 each to assist with urgent needs such as gas to travel to therapy appointments and groceries during this difficult time.
This initiative demonstrated how small acts of generosity can come together to make a meaningful difference for families when they need it most.
